2 Main Reasons for using an inner protection layer inside your primary Sterile Barrier System:

Protective packaging

Protect devices from one another in an assembly of devices: isolate the sharp or fragile devices and add a mechanical protection. The wrap or paper bag inner layer is resistant to punctures and tears, creating an additional barrier and protection during handling, manipulation, or transport.

Aseptic presentation

Ensuring aseptic opening is the last step in the challenging journey of sterile contents to the Operating Theater or other point of use. Using a protective wrap inside your primary sterile barrier system contributes to ensure the device is handled in an aseptic manner even for heavy or large and bulky items. Paper bags can also help isolating smaller items and avoid these to slip out of the packs when handling larger items.

Sterimed inner protection solutions

Inner packaging is always used as secondary packaging, securing efficient sterilization for surgical kits, gowns and drapes, or surgical gloves it supports aseptic handling for the users.

Inner Wrap is used as insert packaging when used to wrap together the individual components of medical kits. The wrap is then inserted in a flexible bag or header bag, and together performs the function of double packaging for sterile transfer of the kit into a surgical suite.

Depending on the kit design the inner wrapping sheet can be used as a sterile table cover.
