The porous materials produced at our Palalda plant, the first link in our value chain, are essential to the group's operations. As a key supplier to other industrial sites, Palalda plays a central role in maintaining Sterimed’s market leadership in sterilization packaging. This strategic recruitment takes place in a context of strong external growth and vertical integration, aiming to meet customer and market expectations while actively contributing to the group's environmental and social responsibility commitments.

YOUR MISSION


Based at the Palalda site, as R&D Manager – Porous Materials (M/F), your mission will be to lead and oversee all research and development activities related to the porous materials segment within the group. You will be responsible for driving innovation, enhancing existing products, and developing new solutions aligned with market needs and the company's strategic directions.

This newly created role is part of an ambitious strategy to strengthen R&D capabilities within Sterimed. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including regional managers, marketing, procurement, and production departments, ensuring an integrated and aligned approach with the group’s objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Strategic R&D:

  • Implement innovation methodologies to foster creativity within teams.
  • Drive technological and scientific intelligence.
  • Develop partnerships with institutions, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers through field meetings.
  • Promote Sterimed’s expertise externally within the industry.
  • Ensure the alignment of the site’s project pipeline with the group’s strategy.

Operational R&D:

  • Prioritize and manage research and development projects.
  • Lead and coordinate R&D teams (4 direct reports and 10 indirect reports).
  • Manage the R&D budget.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
YOUR PROFILE

 

  • Scientific background – Master’s degree (Bac+5).
  • 8-10 years of experience in a complex industrial environment, preferably in materials science.
  • Strong project portfolio management and advanced project management skills.
  • Experience in leading and managing engineering project teams.
  • Interest in strategic and entrepreneurial projects.
  • Initiative-driven and analytical mindset, capable of proposing concrete and efficient solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization (from operators to executive teams).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) is a must.
